Terms of Service

These terms were written by the studio’s own team as a plain-language description of how we actually work — they haven’t been reviewed by outside counsel, so treat them as informative rather than a substitute for legal advice. Every real engagement is also covered by a specific written proposal, which takes precedence over this page.

Who this covers

These terms apply to design and engineering engagements booked through Nexus NC Studio (https://nexusncstudio.com), a studio based in Lagos, Nigeria, working remotely worldwide. By booking an engagement with us, you’re agreeing to these terms alongside the specific written proposal for your project.

What we do

We design and build web applications, native mobile apps, and product design work — end to end, from first wireframe to launch — plus related work like automation, architecture review, and ongoing support for products already live.

How an engagement starts

Every engagement starts the same way: a scoping call to understand what you need, followed by a written proposal — scope, price, and a start date — within 48 hours. Nothing is booked, and no work begins, until you’ve agreed to that proposal. There’s no obligation to proceed after the call.

Payment

Pricing is set per project in the written proposal, not on this page. As a general guide, engagements currently start from around $500 for a short proof-of-concept build, from around $4.5k for a full-stack web or mobile build, and from around $12k for a full system build covering brand, design, engineering, and launch. Ongoing retainer work for the post-launch roadmap is billed monthly.Payment schedule (deposit, milestones, or on delivery) is set out per project in the proposal, not standardised here.

Who owns what you get

The code is yours from the first commit. The repository lives in your organisation and we work inside it, so there’s nothing to hand over at the end — it was never ours. The same applies to design files, content, and any accounts (app store, hosting, payment) that are opened in your name during the build.

After launch

Thirty days of post-launch fixes are included in every build engagement, covering bugs and issues in what we shipped. After that, an ongoing retainer is available for continued work, but plenty of clients simply take the repository and carry on themselves — that’s always been the deal.

If the scope changes

Scope almost always shifts once a build is underway, and that’s fine. Anything new gets estimated and priced before it enters a sprint, so cost and timeline never move without you agreeing to it first. Nothing outside the original proposal is built — or billed — without that sign-off.

What we need from you

Engagements move at the speed of decisions. To keep to the agreed timeline we ask for one point of contact who can approve direction without a committee, roughly half an hour a week to look at progress, and your own content and account access (copy, brand assets, and any accounts that need to be in your name) provided when requested.

Cancellation

Either party can end an engagement in progress with reasonable written notice. You pay for work completed up to that point; we hand over whatever exists in the repository at that stage, in line with the ownership terms above.

Confidentiality

We treat project details, credentials, and anything non-public you share with us as confidential, and we don’t disclose them beyond what’s needed to deliver the work. We’re happy to sign a separate mutual NDA before a scoping call if you need one.

Limitation of liability

We aim to deliver reliable, well-tested work, but as with any professional services engagement, our liability for claims arising from the work is limited to the amount actually paid for the specific engagement giving rise to the claim, to the extent permitted by applicable law. Neither party is liable to the other for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses.

Termination

Beyond voluntary cancellation above, we may pause or end an engagement if payment is significantly overdue, or if continuing would require us to act outside what was agreed. We’ll always raise a concern directly before it gets to that point.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in Lagos, Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless a specific written proposal states otherwise.

Changes to these terms

We may update this page as the studio’s practices evolve. Changes here don’t retroactively alter an engagement already under a signed proposal — that document governs until the engagement ends.
